How to Unlock Bankai in Type Soul - Roblox

To get your Bankai as a Soul Reaper (Shinigami) in Type Soul, you'll need to complete a 4-stage questline. The only prerequisite to start the Bankai obtainment process is to already have your Shikai unlocked. After you've unlocked your Shikai, you can immediately start working towards getting your Bankai.

Stage 1

The first stage of the Bankai obtainment in Type Soul only requires you to win 13 Raids (Karakura Town raids do not count). This can be done within a few hours, though some other game modes will award you progress as well. Here is the list of other modes that will also count for the Bankai obtainment Raid wins:

  • Ranked 1v1: Counts as 0.5 Raid wins (26 Ranked 1v1 wins required in total)
  • Ranked 2v2: Counts as 0.8125 Raid wins (16 Ranked 2v2 wins required in total)
  • Clan Wars: Counts as 2 Raid wins (7 Clan Wars wins required in total)

You can check your Stage 1 progress by talking to the V - Unequalled, Unrivalled NPC inside a wooden barn in the poor part of Karakura Town. He will give you different responses based on how many required Raid wins you currently have. Here are his responses and the amount of progress they represent:

  • 0%: “You will never become anything, compared to what I am.”
  • 20%: “A couple of kills won’t get you anywhere, stop bothering me.”
  • 40%: “Why do you keep coming back? You’re still pathetic.
  • 60%: “Maybe you’re not so bad after all. But I’m still not impressed.”
  • 80%: “You’re quite unbelievable, you know that?”
  • 100%: “Unequaled Unrivaled. Go make me proud, lil bro.”

Stage 2

The 2nd Stage of the Bankai obtainment is much harder than the first one, requiring you to get a bunch of kills, all while remaining alive. If you die at any point during Stage 2, your progress will reset, and you'll need to start over. Here are the Stage 2 requirements:

  • 50 Hollow NPC kills (mission Hollows do count).
  • 10 Elite Grade grips (only non-Shinigami grips will count).
  • 1 Boss kill (only World Bosses count).

You can check your Stage 2 progress by talking to your Shikai Spirit inside your inner world (press M to meditate). It may take a couple of attempts to get the information out of it, so keep interacting with it until it gives you the progress summary. Here is what each line means:

  • Sacrifice the promise of rivals: You don't have enough Elite-Grade kills.
  • Great BawaBawa slain, then I will consider you worthy: You have to kill 1 World Boss.
  • Those once pure must be felled: You don't have enough Hollow kills.
  • Great BawaBawa no longer roams: You have completed the World Boss task.
  • Those once pure have been guided to the afterlife: You have completed the Hollow task.
  • The promises of rivals have been extinguished: You have completed the Elite-Grade grips task.

Stage 3

For the 3rd Stage of your Bankai obtainment, you'll need to talk to the Kisuke NPC in the gardens area of Karakura Town. Talking with him will start a trial, where you'll need to find 3 correct swords in a sword-filled arena.

If you get a wrong sword, floating lines will spawn pointing directly at the location of one of the correct swords. You can fail up to three times, after which the trial will be put on a one-hour cooldown, which you can reset by gripping a Quincy/Hollow player.

Stage 4

After you've found the swords, you'll need to meditate and talk to your Shikai Spirit. After a short dialogue, a boss fight will start, where you'll need to defeat your Bankai to obtain it yourself. The fight is fairly similar to the Shikai boss fight, though the boss will have the Bankai moves at their disposal as well.

Once you've defeated the boss, interact with it to trigger a cutscene and finally unlock your Bankai. If you die at any point during the fight, you can restart the fight immediately by meditating and talking to your Shikai Spirit again.
